Phase 1 - May 04
The Clifton Ford, a five star hotel situated within 5minutes of London's Oxford Street, embarked on an extensive refurbishment of the complete fire alarm system. A new "Gent Vigilon" fire alarm system had previously been installed within the adjacent Holmes Place fitness centre which also was the site of the newer hotel wing. A new Gent fire alarm system therefore was required within the main hotel to fully network all areas of the hotel under new British Standard regulations.
Each floor from the lower basement to the 7th floor was completely rewired 1 or 2 floors at a time, depending on the size of the fire alarm loop. Logistically, this installation was very challenging, as the hotel remained fully open at all times.
Phase 2 - January 07
The hotel embarked on an extensive refurbishment of the complete ground floor area, creating a new restaurant and bar. These new areas were created from existing function rooms and an empty shell and core area.
The new fire alarm equipment was required to be extended from an existing fire alarm loop within the hotel structure and to be commissioned onto the existing Gent system which was installed as above.
Phase 3 - April 07
Work began on phase 3 which undertakes the complete refurbishment of the main reception areas and turning the existing restaurant and bar area into business meeting rooms.
The existing fire alarm equipment is being removed and a new installation will take place.
The hotel maintains the reception area at all times, so Elecro must install the new fire alarm equipment using non evasive installation techniques.
